In the presence of Benoit Dorais, Vice-President of the Executive Committee of the City of Montreal, responsible for housing, real estate strategy and legal affairs, Josefina Blanco, responsible for diversity, social inclusion, homelessness, universal accessibility, women, youth and seniors on the Executive Committee of the City of Montreal, Carole Croteau, Chair of the Board of Directors of Chez Doris and Marina Boulos-Winton, executive director of Chez Doris, Chez Doris held the official inauguration of our new permanent residence, named after Bash Shetty.

Located on Saint-André street, this new building will provide a safe environment and comfortable individual rooms to 20 women experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless. Through a partnership with the Montreal Municipal Housing Office – OMHM, tenants will only pay 25% of the rent, while the remaining 75% will be covered through rapid housing programs.

We would like to thank all our partners, volunteers, and generous donors for making this possible.
We especially want to thank our financial partners, the Government of Canada, Société canadienne d’hypothèques et de logement, Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux (MSSS), the CIUSS du Centre Sud de l’Île de Montréal, Ville de Montréal, OMHM, Bash Shetty, Fond du Grand Mouvement Desjardins, the Marcelle and Jean Coutu Foundation, the members of the Chez Doris Board of Directors for their involvement in this project, as well as Atelier habitation Montréal for their collaboration.
